Right under the great tennis player's nose

Herring Island
Herring Island is hidden in clear view on Alexandra Avenue, the southeast highway. A good shout out from the crowd in the Rod Laver arena. Many of our visitors say that this is their first visit to the island. Some people don't know where the island is when they talk about it.

This day in Australia could change everything. good weather favors tennis.  Members of the Victorian Association of Sculptors, Basketmakers of Victoria and the Victorian Society of Contemporary Art Ceramics Victoria will be on the island in the gallery's courtyard, showcasing their creativity. This is a collaboration between the Herring Island Summer Arts Festival, a series of exhibitions showcasing the work of members of each of these organizations, and the Australia Day Council (Victoria).

The Victorian Sculptors' Association is currently on display in the gallery. All exhibited works have been recorded and images are available on the ASV website http://www.sculptorsvictoria.asn.au .

Elsewhere on the island, artist Bridget Nicholson will be working on her project Touch This Earth Lightly http://www.touchthisearthlightly.com/
