Art Room Decor Resources
I will be on maternity leave this school year. Although I am very happy to be home with my little ones, I will definitely miss the classes. Setting up my art room at the beginning of the year is something I always look forward to. Freshly painted tables and chairs, sparkling clean floors, new board edging, sparkling new hanging wallpaper. I love everything.
The package I sell in my TPT store is 8.5" x 11" or 18" x 24" with these posters, but what I have in my classroom I have cut down to 13 inches by 18 inches.
This summer I was working on a new wallpaper collection from Simplified Elements and Principles . These poster listings print 2 pieces per page, each measuring approximately 3.5" x 9.5". The advantage of these new wallpapers is that they are very eye-catching and easy to read from a distance. This makes them ideal for hanging on billboards or whiteboards or wherever you put them. Each postcard has one main element or name: a colored background that represents the meaning of the word (similar to my wall art word postcards).
Since we art teachers have TONS of different supplies and props in our classrooms, I made a list of 200 general arts and class supplies and created labels for each one. I've also included a blank template in my Instruction Packet - Video to help teachers create their own shortcuts (if they miss something).
The best thing about these posters in my classroom was that all my students could easily link them together if they forgot how to mix a certain color (this was especially helpful for my kids).
So, for example, if I projected Van Gogh's Starry Night onto my painting, my students might conclude that the painting is a landscape or a cityscape (which will spark an interesting discussion) that it is a work of abstract art. . . .
Each postcard has a photo or drawing of the artist, with an enlarged copy of his work, his name, years of life and the most relevant art direction(s). The best part of this package. In total, more than 200 artists.
* Colors included: red, red-orange, orange, yellow-orange, yellow, yellow-green, green. blue-green, indigo, blue-purple, purple (optional purple substitute), red-purple, pink, brown, grey, white և sև. (White and blank are not listed below.)
Why you ask? Although the different colors of the same color are called "shades" of color, technically they are not all. This is especially confusing for our young learners as they see nuances in terms of hue and hue, hence a color + sև. You can avoid this confusion by using the Color Variety title card. :)
Are you interested in designing the decoration of my room?
I usually start each school year with an article showing how I created my art room: Classroom Management Plans, but this year will be a little different. Instead, I'm going to show you some pictures of things that worked well in previous years, some exciting new creations I've worked on in the room.
visual art word wall
These fine art wallpapers are a great way to teach your kids art vocabulary, show your leadership how to bring literacy to your art room.
Every year I hang them on my classroom wall so my students can see my wall while they wait for the teacher.
This summer I brought some interesting updates to my Word Wall Maps. The vocabulary is much bolder and the card game included in the definitions is much easier to read from a distance.
Elements & Principles Wallpapers & Comics
Another item I like to hang on my classroom wall is a collection of posters featuring elements of art and design principles . Placing these posters next to my son's location at the end of the lesson gives them a way to learn the basics. The package I sell in my TPT store is 8.5" x 11" or 18" x 24" with these posters, but what I have in my classroom I have cut down to 13 inches by 18 inches.

art labels
You know who likes a messy art room? I do not! I'm like the queen of organization, so it's amazing that my art studio hasn't been tagged with my props for six years. I created these art labels to label not only the outside of the plastic storage container, but also the outside of my closet door (so I knew where everything was, including my students). Labeling my cabinets would be a great way for my students to collect their desk supplies, saving valuable learning time.Since we art teachers have TONS of different supplies and props in our classrooms, I made a list of 200 general arts and class supplies and created labels for each one. I've also included a blank template in my Instruction Packet - Video to help teachers create their own shortcuts (if they miss something).
Color matching wallpapers
A few years ago I made a series of mixed media whiteboard sized posters to hang in my classroom to help my students learn primary, secondary, middle/high school colors. However, over time, I realized that I needed more than one set of lessons per class (I wanted all my students to be able to see well). So I ended up creating a digital version of mixed color wallpaper. The best thing about these posters in my classroom was that all my students could easily link them together if they forgot how to mix a certain color (this was especially helpful for my kids).
art postcards
Learning to classify art by genre is a great skill to teach your students, especially what you need in SLO tests. To help my students remember the possible categories, I created postcards in this art genre . In previous years, I hung it on the whiteboard/projection screen. So when I introduce my students to a new artist or work, I may be asked to quickly grade the work. So, for example, if I projected Van Gogh's Starry Night onto my painting, my students might conclude that the painting is a landscape or a cityscape (which will spark an interesting discussion) that it is a work of abstract art. . . .
art movement cards
Are you trying to integrate a bit of art history into your lessons? Or better? Are you a high school art teacher? These contemporary art movements cards are the perfect way to introduce students to the 33 contemporary art movements. I have created two different versions of this collection. A simplified collection of audiovisuals, which includes the name of the artistic movement; years of activity in the movement, followed by a summary of the movement; a more complex collection of some of the movement's most active artists.Cards for contemporary artists
My collection of contemporary artist postcards goes perfectly with my art movement postcards. You can do a lot with them. You can display them on a whiteboard to create an artist "word wall", hang information to display for the respective artist class, use it for posters such as an artist's weekly headline, or to create an artist's schedule. . Help your students see how artists have influenced each other. Each postcard has a photo or drawing of the artist, with an enlarged copy of his work, his name, years of life and the most relevant art direction(s). The best part of this package. In total, more than 200 artists.
colored wallpapers with pencils
I love these new pencil cards that I make because they are so beautiful in all the colors. Whenever I buy colored wallpapers for my class, they only include 9 basic colors, so I finally made my own. This set includes yellow, yellow-orange, orange, red-orange, red, red-purple, purple, blue-purple, blue, blue-green, green, yellow-green, white, grey, s, brown. , pink! It also includes color scheme titles and other plugins to help you organize them the way you want. They are very fairy.
COUSIN. They even come with a blank template so you can make your own labels with them.

mix color wallpapers
This set is similar to my pencil cards in that it shows ALL the colors (including tertiary), but this color matching card set also has an illustration in the corner that shows the colors you need to mix to get the correct color. This collection is a great way for students to learn how to name colors, classify them, and create them in different settings.* Colors included: red, red-orange, orange, yellow-orange, yellow, yellow-green, green. blue-green, indigo, blue-purple, purple (optional purple substitute), red-purple, pink, brown, grey, white և sև. (White and blank are not listed below.)
Descriptive color tones
Do you want your student to talk more about color (or at least light blue or blue)? Yes me too. That's why I created this colored wallpaper . I have two different versions of this product for different decoration tastes, and both versions have 9 color banners (full page or half page) and two optional title banners. One of the titles says "Many Colors" and the other says "Variety of Colors".Why you ask? Although the different colors of the same color are called "shades" of color, technically they are not all. This is especially confusing for our young learners as they see nuances in terms of hue and hue, hence a color + sև. You can avoid this confusion by using the Color Variety title card. :)
